Initial Job Hunting
I found the initial job hunting quite stressful. You have to keep your chin up and telling yourself that the right job is just around the corner. The uncertainty is probably the worst bit of it but I think finding your first job is probably the hardest one of all.
I registered with Discovery Graduates, who are graduate recruitment specialist and they helped me secure my graduate position. I have found Discovery to be very to pleasant to deal with and they show a particular level of enthusiasm for their role. They seem to enjoy what they do and it shows. Discovery also ran a sales training course for me and the other new recruits. This training was fantastic and gave me a good understanding about the sales process and gave me the confidence to excel in my career!
I work from home and it is my job to generate new sales. I cold call to get appointments and then visit the potential clients to establish their needs and hopefully put our equipment into their operation.
I really enjoy this role. It is very challenging and involves meeting lots of new people and developing relationships. This is more than a sales role as we provide consultation to our client. The best thing about my role is the variety and challenge.
There are obvious perks such as a company car and you are your own boss and therefore responsible for your own actions.
