It's not all bad news!

Release Date: 05 March 2010

All the bad press relating to unemployment over the last couple of years has proved very discouraging for graduates who have been committed to their job hunt. Being bombarded with news from all angles that there aren’t enough jobs for graduates is bound to be distressing but we have been impressed with the determination of the graduates we have come into contact with and happy that we have been able to help them on their journeys, as we have done with this graduate who was successful in his application to work for ABP.

“Having returned from 3 years in the US, I was very overwhelmed by the task that lay ahead of me. I had been applying for quite a while, when one day I came across a Technical Manager role for graduates posted on a job website. I thought I had nothing to lose and sent over my CV. Several days later Vicky called me and invited me for an interview in Birmingham. I jumped at the chance and I met with her. I found her very informative, friendly, easy to talk to and she was willing to listen. When I left the office that day after speaking to her, I felt very enthusiastic about my chances.

One week passed pretty quickly, and Vicky invited me to the assessment day at the Lion Quays Hotel. The whole day was organised very well, and I am glad I brought my laptop!! I met with 4 members of ABP and I was very enthusiastic about being part of this. I was also fortunate to meet with Sarah that day too. She was very friendly, informative and I felt at ease. Having not heard anything for a week or so, Vicky was kind enough to call me again to keep me in the loop about developments. Thankfully, just over a week later, Vicky called me to give me the good news that I was one of two people chosen by ABP to join their team. I felt so happy to land this role but also my gratitude must extend to Vicky as she was always helpful and this gave me the confidence to believe I would be successful in finding employment with Discovery.

Thank you once again Vicky and Sarah, I am very grateful, you've no idea!!!”
